The Windermere Children

August, 1945. A coachload of children arrive at the Calgarth Estate by Lake Windermere. They are child survivors of the Nazi Holocaust that has devastated Europe’s Jewish population. Carrying only the clothes they wear and a few meagre possessions, they bear the emotional and physical scars of all they have suffered.

Charged with looking after them is Oscar Friedmann, a German-born child psychologist. He and his team of counsellors have just four months to help the children reclaim their lives. By the lake, in sunshine and rain the children eat, learn English, play football and ride bikes. They yearn for news of their loved ones every day, and meanwhile they are invited to express their trauma through painting. Some locals taunt them but they are embraced by others. A number of the older children steal and they are haunted by nightmares. Nevertheless, it is in this environment that they begin to heal.

Eventually, letters from The Red Cross arrive with the terrible confirmation that for nearly all the children their siblings and parents have been murdered. One child, however, is convinced that his brother survived.

The Windermere Children is the stark, moving and ultimately redemptive story of the bonds they make with one another, and of how the friendships forged at Windermere become a lifeline to a fruitful future. In the absence of relatives, they find family in each other.

Stendhal Festival of Art

A fabulous customer we have been supplying to for a number of years. As the festival has grown, so have their communication needs and it’s been great to facilitate that. The Festival is based in rural Limavady and we supply radio communications as well as wifi modems across their site. We simply love this event.

Derry Girls

The surprise hit which Is Channel 4’s most successful comedy since Father Ted is filmed in Belfast and Derry. We provided radios and mobile communication. Series 2 has just finished and series 3 has already been green lit.

Game of Thrones

We have been working on Game of Thrones since the pilot episode in 2009 right through to Season 8, when it comes to an end this year. GOT presented many challenges over the years as we provided radios and mobiles across multiple countries and up to 5 filming units simultaneously. We rose to all of these challenges. Another major challenge was providing mobile wifi to the departments across many locations and ensuring they could access the large data requirements needed on such a VFX heavy show.

We worked closely with our partners at EE to get the very best mobile coverage and data packages, we even negotiated changing the angle of a specific mast to increase coverage on a location. This kind of relationship with the network has made it possible for us to provide top class communications to our productions.

We are incredibly proud of our 10 years of work on GOT and were delighted when they honoured us with our own Emmy certificate when they won Outstanding Drama series in 2014/2015!

Krypton

The story of Superman’s grandfather is made by Warner Horizon in Belfast Harbour studios. Filming of the 2nd season has taken place and is due to be aired in 2019. Filming takes place mainly in the studio and radio communications are imperative to the smooth running of such a large tv drama. We also provide mobile communications including double speed 4G wifi modems on the EE network.

Line of Duty

Written by Jed Mercurio, LOD is one of the BBC’s top rated dramas and has won an RTS award for Best Drama series. We have been providing radios and mobile communications since the 2nd series when production moved to NI. We have just finished work on series 5 and looking forward to series 6.

Culture Night Belfast

We couldn’t be prouder to supply radio communications to an event which showcases Belfast at its finest. As this event has grown it has spread further across the city centre and the challenge is to ensure that radio signal can reach all of the internal and external locations. We manage this event using Motorola DP440 digital radios and digital repeaters.
